Day - 2 - Snotty Nose

First 24 hours have been a mixed bag, we had a really good sail out from Santa Cruz, we were averaging 6 to 7 knots with the current. However, we both managed to pick up colds at the end of the trip, so Tates spent a good part of the day sleeping.

The winds got light through the night and with the angle of the waves we couldn’t steer our ideal course so headed west until sunrise.  We’re going to take the Northerly route, so at sunrise we put our smaller spinnaker up and started to head back up to the equator.  The distances are pretty bonkers, so the next planned course change in in 2 days time when we’re hopefully into the Westerly pacific current.

Annoyingly one of our alternators started playing today. it’s been rock solid, but this morning decided not to give us any power, that’ll be the next job to see if I can fix it…

Other than that, all good! – Had banana pancakes for breakie and have got my morning coffee in my hand… we’re back to uninterrupted 360 degree horizons and it’s amazing!…
